Animateurs – French Immersion Enrichment (Grades 3–5)
Designed for students currently enrolled in French Immersion, this program helps children strengthen the language, literacy, and academic skills needed to thrive in their French-language classroom with greater confidence and independence.
Unlike a general French class, students use French not only to communicate, but also to read, write, think critically, solve problems, and explore curriculum-based concepts. Through guided discussion, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary development, and cross-curricular learning in French, students deepen both their communication skills and their academic readiness.
The program follows a progressive school-year curriculum and is designed to complement, reinforce, and extend the skills students are developing at school.
Skills progression:
- Strengthen listening comprehension and oral communication in French.
- Build confidence expressing ideas, opinions, and answers in complete French sentences.
- Improve reading fluency, comprehension, and interpretation of age-appropriate French texts.
- Expand academic and subject-specific vocabulary used in the French Immersion classroom.
- Develop stronger grammar, sentence structure, spelling, and written expression.
- Strengthen paragraph writing, short responses, and guided written production in French.
- Reinforce age-appropriate mathematics, science, social studies, and inquiry concepts through French.
- Develop greater independence completing French-language academic tasks and participating in class discussions.
- Strengthen classroom language and learning strategies commonly used in Grades 3 to 5 French Immersion.
Schedule:
Saturday, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Class size: Small-group format for greater individual attention — maximum 8 students, minimum 4 students required to launch the class.
Format: 2-hour weekly French Immersion enrichment class. Ongoing monthly subscription with continuous enrollment throughout the school year.
Monthly tuition: $329 per month
Make-up option: Eligible missed classes may be made up in another appropriate equivalent French Immersion section when available for a $10 booking fee. Make-up classes are subject to availability and program conditions.
Cancellation: 30 days’ written notice is required to cancel enrollment.
Registration is subject to LPE’s School-Year Group Program Terms & Policies.
