Peculiar Prototypes is an advanced design-and-build camp created for senior campers who love tackling real engineering challenges. Throughout the week, students dive into hands-on projects that explore circuitry, buoyancy, tension, balance, structural design, and mechanical systems. Rather than simply building from instructions, campers are challenged to think like engineers by testing ideas, identifying flaws, and refining their designs.

Each project begins with a problem to solve. Campers brainstorm solutions, sketch ideas, build working prototypes, and put their creations to the test. Whether designing a structure that can withstand force, a floating device that meets specific constraints, or a circuit that performs a task, students learn how iteration and experimentation lead to stronger results.
